Villa Siam
Inspired By Thai Culture
Inspired By Thai Culture
Designed by Eggarat Wongcharit, Villa Siam is a maximalist fantasy inspired by Thai culture and Buddhism. Eggarat Wongcharit’s extraordinary creations use a modern take on traditional Thai craftsmen’s techniques. His unique and original work includes beds and sofas suspended from the ceiling by wicker bamboo as well as a spa inscribed with Buddhist teachings translated into English, located within an ancient golden Thai bell. Intricate wickerwork and glass mosaics grace the eclectic and daring rooms of the villa.
Dozens of bronze lotus flower leaves adorn the walls and the ceilings above the bed and the artwork in the bathroom depicts the movement of water. An exquisite mother of pearl suspended sofa accompanies the bed and hand cut gold and silver mosaics, traditionally found in temples, give the suite an oriental touch.
Inspired by the islands of Phang-Nga Bay, this lounge room is a welcoming sanctuary from the midday sun. Three large illuminated images pay tribute to the sacred Buddha, while the pagoda wrapped in traditional Thai weaving ties the room’s contemporary lines and Thai roots seamlessly together. The white sofas suspended from the ceiling provide the perfect spot for relaxation, and up to six guests can enjoy a fabulous meal on the complementing white and gold dining table.
An overwhelming feeling of serenity engulfs you the moment you step into The Golden Temple Bell Spa. Inspired by a temple in the mountains of northern Thailand, the interior of this dome shaped spa is covered in gold leaf and inscribed with sacred Buddhist texts that have been translated into English. Enter this spiritual sanctuary to enjoy a pampering treatment or detoxify in the Thai herbal steam room.
