Discover Paradise: Phang Nga, Our Home
On the shores of the Andaman Sea, neighbouring Krabi and Phuket, is the diverse Phang-nga province. The name Phang-nga derives from the ancient Malay term “Pangan,” which translates to ‘jungle’ in contemporary Thai. Over the past two decades, the Phang-nga province, including, Khao Lak and its coastal national park, Takua Pa, and Khok Kloi – home to Iniala Beach House – have been transformed into a cultural and natural landmark.
Covering 4,171 km2 of caves, rivers, forests, mountains, vertical limestone rock formations and more, Phang-nga is home to many natural marvels and monuments despite its relatively small size, which explains why it has earned its status as a UNESCO-protected world heritage site.
Phang-nga Bay
If you were only going to go to Phang-nga Bay once, it would be remiss not to get the iconic photo at James Bond Island, or Koh Tapu as locals know it. This famous landmark, featuring a striking limestone monolith rising 20 meters above sea level, gained worldwide recognition after being featured in The Man with the Golden Gun. However, although this is the most famed destination, it is only a small part of all there is to do in Phang-nga Bay.
As you journey through Phang Nga Bay, the towering limestone cliffs surround you and create a unique experience that is hard to compare to anywhere else in the world. Whilst out, find the opportunity to kayak or canoe, one of the best ways to explore the timeless caves and hongs (skylight cave openings) of these peninsulas and islands. The closer you get to these marvels, their heights become even more awe-inspiring. These natural landmarks truly immerse you in Phang-nga Bay’s unique landscape.
However, if boats aren’t for you but you still wish to experience the majesty of Phang-nga bay, Samet Nangshe offers unparalleled views of the breathtaking area. Just a 15-minute drive from Iniala Beach House, this panoramic viewpoint offers an unfettered spot to watch the perfect sunrise over Phang-nga Bay’s breathtaking expanse.
